Vita

Melina Tretmans ist Doktorandin an der Professur für Internationale Institutionen und Friedensprozesse. Ihr Bachelorstudium in Arabisch und Kommunikation absolvierte sie in Maastricht, mit einem Aufenthalt an der University of Jordan in Amman und einem Praktikum bei der niederländischen Botschaft im Oman. Sie hat einen Master in Conflict and Development von der Universität Gent. Von 2022 bis 2023 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Global Governance an der Zeppelin Universität in Friedrichshafen.

In der DFG-Forschungsgruppe transMID (Transnational Mobility and Institutional Dynamics) arbeitet Melina Tretmans als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Teilprojekt „Internationale Organisationen und Norm(um)setzung zum Schutz von Geflüchteten“. In diesem Projekt forscht sie zu Gender- und Disability-Normen von IOM und UNHCR. Sie war in 2024 als Gastwissenschaftlerin am Geneva Graduate Institute und an der Université Internationale de Rabat, sowie am European University Institute in Florenz in 2025. Außerdem führte sie Feldforschung durch in Marokko, Genf, und Griechenland
