VITA:
Dr. Caroline Fehl is a Research Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and a research associate and external lecturer at the Frankfurt Cluster of Excellence "Normative Orders", working group "International Organization". Prior to July 2012, she held Postdoctoral Fellowships within the working group, at the Institute for Political Science at Goethe University Frankfurt, as well as at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford.
Caroline studied Political Science at Albert Ludwig University Freiburg, Columbia University, New York, and Free University Berlin, where she received her Diplom (Masters) in 2003. In 2008, she completed her DPhil in International Relations at the University of Oxford with a thesis on "Living with a reluctant hegemon: Explaining European responses to US unilateralism". For her doctoral research, she received fellowships from the German Academic Exchange service, the Daimler Benz Foundation, the Economic and Social Research Council, and the European Foreign and Security Policy Studies Programme.
At the universities of Oxford, Greifswald, and Frankfurt, she has taught a wide range of courses including an International Relations survey class and classes on International Relations in the Cold War, International institutions and law, and Transatlantic relations.
In addition to research and teaching, she has completed internships in journalism and politics, including in the European Parliament, where she worked on the issues of nuclear non-proliferation and cluster munitions.
