Das Essay (1799) von Stack ist eine Antwort auf einen Brief zum in Irland entstandenen Whig Club. In dem Brief werden der Whig Club und auch die Parteien stark kritisiert. Stack versucht sich hierbei an einer Verteidigung und geht auf einige Eigenschaften und Aufgaben von Parteien ein.
